Llaenawc, King of Elmet (Born c.AD 475) (Welsh: Llaennog; Latin: Lennocus; English: Leonard) Llaenawc was the son of King Masguid Gloff (apparently of Elmet). John Morris has suggested that he was the founder of an early 6th century British Kingdom based on Lennox in Southern Scotland: the man giving his name to the town (Morris 1973). There is, however, no evidence to support this theory, and the association of his son, Gwallawc Marchawc Trin, with Elmet would indicate that this was Llaenawc's real kingdom.
