Mermin Mawr, King of Ynys Manaw
(Born c.AD 630)
(Welsh: Merfyn; Latin: Marbinus; English: Mervin)

Mermin was the son of King Cynin map Anllech. Though not all that much is known about him, as his epithet of 'the Great' shows, he was a more powerful monarch than most of his predecessors. His navy was so well-established that it was able to raid the coasts of Ulster and Leinster. His death is recorded, in the Annals of the former, as having taken place in AD 682, when he was succeeded by his son, Anaraud.

Records of King Mermin date back to the 11th century. He is generally considered legendary.
